The stone observatory on the Bloody lane is now finished and ready for visitors. The view from this point alone is worth a visit to the famous Bloody lane as you can take in the entire right to the left nearly four miles. There will be, when all planted, nearly four hundred markers, giving one a good idea of the entire battle field with the advantage of the good roads. Every body ought to visit it and make a study of this great battle.

I am here to announce that my new book, Rare Images of Antietam, will be ready for the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Antietam. I am scheduled for a talk at the battlefield at 1pm on Friday, September 14th and a book signing at 1pm on Saturday September 15th.
The book is 152 pages with seventy featured images and hundreds of supporting images. I'd love to tell you more about it but I only have a week to get this book to bed. Thanks so much for all of the interest.
